What did China say after the meeting of PM Modi-Xi in BRICS?
The bilateral meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and PM Modi in Kazan has indicated the melting of ice in relations between the two countries. Unlike BRICS, this meeting lasted for about 50 minutes. During this, India and China had extensive discussions especially on LAC dispute and other issues.
China has issued a
big statement on Thursday after the bilateral talks held between PM Modi and
President Xi Jinping on Wednesday on the sidelines of the 16th BRICS summit in
Kazan, Russia.
On the scope for
improvement in India-China relations, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin
Jian told reporters here, "PM Modi and Xi Jinping have reached an
important consensus on improving and developing China-India relations.
After this
bilateral meeting, Lin said that China will resolve its differences with India.
It is also ready to enhance communication and cooperation, enhance mutual
strategic trust and bring bilateral relations back on the path of stable
development as soon as possible.
Directives were
issued to reactivate various bilateral dialogue mechanisms, signaling efforts
to normalize relations that were hit by a deadly military clash in 2020.
